Power Flushing
Are you finding your rooms are colder than usual when you have your central heating on? Have you noticed that your radiators are cold with only a hot strip at the top? Or have you spotted dark sludgy water when you bleed your radiators?
This could be a sign that your central heating system needs a Power Flush. The sludge build-up is made up of rust, dirt and debris. It will be costing you more money in heating bills and if it is not dealt with could threaten the whole of your central heating system.
A Power Flush could also be a good idea if you are having a new boiler installed but have an old central heating system and old radiators. One of our team would be able to run tests at the point of boiler installation to check if it is needed or if a Dynamic Water flush would do the job.
Rest assured that we would always talk you through the steps and make sure we are delivering the services you need in the best way possible, at the best price.
What is a Power Flush?
It is a process designed to remove sludgy build-up in the boiler, pipes and radiators that make up your central heating system. A power flushing unit sends water through your central-heating system at high velocity to dislodge any build-up of sludge, rust and other debris.
What are the benefits of flushing your radiators?
- Quicker heating radiators
- Heating costs will be lower
- Rooms will heat more evenly
- Your system will last longer with less breakdowns
- Improve the efficiency and lifespan of your boiler
What happens during a Power Flush?
A powerful machine called a ‘pumping station’ is used to remove dirty water and sludgy build-up while introducing clean water. The engineer may add a chemical to the system to break down sludge before the equipment is connected and the flushing process begins.
How long will it take?
The Power Flushing process has several stages and it could take between a couple of hours to the whole day to complete. Our engineer would keep you in the loop the whole way through so you can always have peace of mind.
